A Trip To The Doctors
The first step was the Endocrinologist. He is so very patient with me. I am probably the most non-compliant patient he has. He has attempted to encourage me to get on an insulin pump, but I just cannot bring myself to do. I just know I will overcome this illness.
Now before you think I am a cheerleader on this, you have to understand, I am in such deep denial that is has only recently really "hit" me that I DO actually have diabetes. And, I hate it. I do, however, have some awesome news for you.
"Whatever you're doing, keep doing it". Says the good Dr.
Thats simple enough. I drink 3-4 ounces a day of NingXia Red. This is the super food drink my company sells, and people swear by it. I know I have seen the difference. It regulates pancreas, liver, heart and eye maintenance health. So, following Dr's orders, I will "keep doing it".
I am also taking a daily dosage of Omega Blue, another product of ours. It's fish oil in a capsule. There is something (don't ask me to explain it please), about ours that is different. Something about how you digest it and it s sealed in a dark blue gel cap to keep out the light from the oils. Not sure what or how, I just know my LDL (the bad one?), dropped 50% in 90 days of using this product. So, we are going to keep that one around.
Dr. # 2, my regular physician. I am so sick and tired of being in pain all the time. I did the PT (26 days of it), and nothing really changed except my hip and back issues. Those are much better due to the PT. The all over pain however, is still very present. So, I began Internet research on Fibromyalgia (don't forget that is what I had been diagnosed with). I stumbled (thank you Angels), upon a little know, somewhat rare disease called Dercums. I printed out everything I could find out about it. I sat in the floor and cried as I read it. It was like reading my own blog. Everything on my health issue list was there (including a few things you don't know about as I didn't put them on the list). I cried with relief. I'd believed I finally found the root of the chronic daily pain. I took this information to my Dr, and after reviewing it, and looking me over again, reviewing my past 18 yr. history with him (etc.), he tended to agree. Problem? No cure, no diagnostic testing available for it, it is simply clinically diagnosed (which I now have). So, the outcome on this one is still in the air.
I am a firm believer, however, that to rid yourself of something you must first know what you are dealing with. Now I do.
P.S. - The healthy eating is not going so well. I hope soon that will change. It really HAS to.
P.S.S. - Getting a treadmill for the fall/winter months to keep my hip exercised.
Until next time!

Physical Therapy
Last week the PT was working so great, and I was feeling alive again. I felt like my body had been asleep for years and was starting to spark again. Each time I pushed my exercises a bit more. If they asked for 20 stretches I gave them 25 instead. That was working great until I doubled the efforts. If they asked for 30 I gave them 60. I felt awesome afterward, for a few days that is. 48 hours later I was writhing in pain. Pain so intense it took my breath to even more my toes. I had pulled a back muscle, a booty muscle.
I rested it for a few days then returned to PT and I am still a bit sore and stiff, but much better now.
I had to break down and take some pain relievers during those 2 days. What helped more than anything, however, were the oils. I used a concoction of sorts of:
* Pan Away - one of the most awesome pain oils I have found. It works within 42 seconds!!!
* Deep Relief - another pain relieving oil that I alternated with Pan Away.
* Marjoram - for muscles
* Lemon grass - for ligaments
* Peppermint - to drive all of these oils in deeper, allowing them to work more effectively.
So, next week I am back to working out on PT.
My weight is still the same, no big changes there. I am not disappointed by that, not at all. I have to get into good enough shape to be able to even exercise properly, so I am waiting it out.
Until next time - Tina Michelle

Pnemonia..... again
About 3 years ago I was doing intense research for a new book I was working on. The information I ran across disturbed me so much and was on so startling, and so heart breaking, it did just that. It broke my Anahata Chakra (heart center). The Anahata oversees the lungs, and within 3 days of this 'heartbreak', I developed a respiratory infection that quickly segway into pneumonia.
In Oct. of 2008, my husband was called back to the hospital after a stress test. He was hospitalized immediately and needed a 5-way bypass. This was very frightening to me, I could loose my husband! Within 3 days I had pneumonia again. Talk about in convenient, trying to be at the hospital with pneumonia myself was almost the death of me. My husband is fine now, and credits his life to drinking NingXia Red for 6 months prior to his heart condition being discovered.
Now, just within the past few weeks, I have had a "hit to the heart" with my youngest daughter. I as also revisiting the research I had started years ago for the book I am still working on/ So, wouldn't you know it, pneumonia again!
So, today is my 4th day of this respiratory condition, and I am using my Young Living Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils.
* Thieves - named for the famous 4 thieves who stole from the victims of the plague. They didn't catch it, but when apprehended, they were granted leniency for their secret to keeping healthy while stealing from the infectious. Their formula was a combination of essential oils (used as medicinals during those times). This formula has been re-created (and tested in independent labs) to kill 99.96 % of airborne viruses. Thus, I am using it. :)
* R.C. - contains powerful therapeutic-grade essential oils that are invigorating when applied, especially to the chest and throat area. R.C. is a wonderful blend to diffuse during winter.
* Raven - a combination of deeply soothing therapeutic grade essential oils that will provide comfort when applied topically to the chest and throat or diffused
* Immupower - is a powerful blend of therapeutic-grade essential oils that create a fragrant and protective haven while increasing positive energy.
I am determined to pull this together over this next year. Stay turned with me to see my metamorphosis into the Goddess Trapped Within.

Diabetes Look OUT!
Well now I have this wonderful whole food life source! NingXia Red by Young Living. Since I started working for the company I have seen this work on my husband's heart (5 way bypass with so much damage, it is surprising he is still alive). He credits drinking 1 oz of NingXia Red per day for 6 months prior to the heart damage discovery as being his life saver. (It is known for helping the heart, the blood glucose, eyes and kidneys).
So, I recently won a free cruise for 2 on the Young Living Incentive cruise, and during that time several people suggested I "kick it up a notch" to a therapeutic dosage of 6 oz a day. Which I did. The results? AMAZING!
My sugar is lowering quickly (not too quickly, but fast enough). This has resulted in my insulin being lowered today, and I am thrilled! ITS WORKING!
Also, called the Dr. today to get referred to physical therapy for my back. So, I am excited to get some sort of exercise program in place and get into shape and health! I'll keep you updated.

Our Journey Begins
Hello Everyone!
Since discovering Young Living Therapeutic Essential Oils, I am encouraged and energized about repairing my health.
I realize this will be a lifelong journey, as I have several issues that will require true dedication to repair. So, I invite you to my journey.
I hope to be posting regularly concerning health concerns and making the lifestyle changes necessary for the success of regaining my health. To begin let's look over what I have to work on. Make your own list too, so that you can go about discovering what works well for each health concern or issue.
- Diabetes - discovered in 2005. Looking back I have had this since about 1995. Visited 6 different doctors all of which missed this very evident disease. My sugar levels run high 200-500 usually. I am on shots (4-6 per day).
- Heart - Mitral Value Prolapse - I had Rheumatic Fever as a child that damaged my heart value. This creates heart palpitations and pressure on my chest.
- Dercum's Disease - This is a form of Rheumatism in the fatty tissue throughout the body. It is extremely painful, and knots form under the skin called "lipomas".
- Three Herniated Disc - due to degenerative disc disease.
- Congenital Hip Dysplasis - This is a birth defect to the hip area. If found at birth or shortly thereafter (in my age group), children were put into a body cast/plastic diaper with braces. My mother didn't put them on me as she should. I now have chronic pain throughout the hip area.
- Liver - I have a mass on my liver that is benign but swells regularly. This is due to the high fat diet I have had while not having a gall bladder.
- Lungs - I had no idea how bad my lungs were until my Endocrinologist suggested using inhaled insulin. During the breathing test required to be put on the medication, my Dr. and I were both surprised to discover my breathing was compared to a 70 yr. old.
- Hashimoto's Thyroid Disease - When my thyroid went "out" and stopped working properly, I went from a size 7 to a size 18 in one year! At this point the Dr. says my thyroid is the size of 4 human ones.
- Fibromaylgia - Lumps develop under my skin from the size of an M&M to the size of a silver dollar. The pain from this disorder is almost mind numbing. I have thrown my jaw out of line just from gritting my teeth through the worst pain days. - This is an inaccurate diagnoses we later found, I actually have Dercum's Disease (see above).
- Arthritis - This is the least thing I have wrong. It is in my fingers, shoulder and knees.
- Carpal Tunnel - right wrist up into the elbow.
- High Blood Pressure - due to my weight I am sure.
- Horomonal Imbalance - Prior to my Hysterectomy my horomones were so out of balance my anger issues were through the roof! They are still out of balance, but so much better since the surgery.
As you can see, I am falling apart! LOL. Not so funny actually. I am only 47! So, this is my year of change for my body. The year I master my health. 4+7 = 11. In numerology that is a Master number for Mastering something in your life. It is going to be my health. With a list like the one above, I should be in a hospital bed somewhere according to traditional medicine. I prefer to access Alternaitve Holistic Care instead. What choice will you make in your health?
I will post weekly updates, and what I am going to do, and WILL DO to change my lifestyle.
First step - at least ONE healthy meal per week. I am going to change my palate from high fat, greasy southern food to healthy tastes. I realize this is a slow and steady change. All other times I have tried to rush it, I reverted back to my old taste options.
I will report again soon!
